Fake “Nurse of the Year” Headed to Prison



Connecticut - A woman who staged a dinner honoring herself as “Nurse of the Year” will spend nine months in prison for practicing nursing without a license. Betty Lichtenstein, 57, of Danbury was working for Dr. Gerald Weiss in 2009, when Weiss complained to the Connecticut Department of Health that Lichtenstein had acted unprofessionally. An investigation found that Lichtenstein was never licensed to practice nursing.  More…

Prankster sentenced to five years in prison for hoax call


Texas - A former Pranknet member has been sentenced to five years in prison for a hoax call that resulted in significant damage to a McDonald’s in Texas. James Tyler Markle, 20, received the stiff sentence during a sentencing hearing before Judge Barry Bryan in Angelina County District Court. Markle will soon be transported from the county jail to the Texas State Penitentiary at Huntsville, the state’s oldest lockup and home to its death chamber....more

Florida - Former Florida A and M University student Marcus Barrington was sentenced to 84 months (7 years) in federal prison for his involvement in the March grade change scandal. Bizarre News-Man Faces Prison for Allegedly Attacking Neighbor With Centipedes


KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — A Malaysian man has been accused of trying to hurt his neighbor with a dangerous weapon — centipedes.
Prosecutor Mazri Mohamed said Wednesday that R. Prabakaran has been charged with attempting to cause harm with a dangerous weapon after allegedly unleashing four centipedes and bugs in his neighbor's bed last week following an argument.
Prabakaran, 21, allegedly climbed on to the roof to enter his neighbor's house where he committed the offense, Mazri said. More...
